OUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

WELCOME BACK!

We had a fantastic first day of school today, although it was very hot! We are finally getting some nice warm weather.
I am so excited to be the 2009 - 2010 Grade 5/6 teacher this year! I will be teaching both grades together for all subjects during the afternoon, and grade 6 alone in the morning (for ELA and Math) Mrs Tawna Hansen will be teaching the grade 5's during that time.

Our first parent/teacher meeting is not until the evening of November 17th and morning of November 18th. Please mark it on your calendars because it will be an important time to go over homework, grading, discipline and any concerns you or I might have. I am really looking forward to meeting you on that day, but I would be happy to meet with you before that if you would like.

In an effort to keep up all on the same page, I have created this blog, which I will be updating daily, and the newest posts will always be at the top. There will always be homework, assignments and upcoming events on it. However, it is vitally important that students use their day planners every day, as it is the best means of communication between you and I. Organization is an essential skill to learn for high school (and life!) and we are trying to be very organized this year.
