Wow - 2 short weeks in a row! We had a good day today, with one CAT test, but some interesting ideas to take home. We talked a lot about what it would be like to be a kid in Rwanda and Malawi, and we have decided to find some ways to help kids accross the world.

One way that we can make a difference is TRICK OR TREAT FOR UNICEF - our annual money collecting venture at halloween. We collected an average of class goals for how much we are planning to raise and we came up with $868.90 - a lot of money - but we are going to try hard to reach it. We discovered that if we each collect $25, we can make $550!

The other really great way that we can make a big difference is the Operation Christmas Child boxes. These boxes are a way for kids to collect fun toys, school supplies and health supplies in a shoe box and send it overseas to a child in need. We have decided as a class to make a shoe box for a 5-9year old boy and a shoe box for 2-4 year old girl. If students want to take their own boxes home to fill, I will collect those too, but we are thinking that if we all just contribute a few small things, we can easily fill the box. In order to send these off, I am asking that they be returned on Thursday Nov 20th.
